The English Subtitle Editor will spot, simulate and proof film-related content for any/all of the following mediums: DVD, Broadcast, streaming media, dubbing, gaming and corporate projects. The successful applicant will be able to do the following:
Complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner
Available to work Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm in our Mexico City office.
Possess the aptitude to learn and keep up-to-date with the caption-centric computer program Swift, as well as ancillary CC/DVD programs
Able to apply studio subtitle protocols as needed and adhere to all special instructions
Work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Be proactive and communicate problems/issues/developments effectively to supervisor, peers, and/or internal staff as needed
Assist with other duties in department as needed
Attend departmental or other meetings as directed
Create regular feedback for peers
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Excellent command of English language, including slang and colloquial expressions
Excellent organizational skills with project-ownership attitude
Excellent computer skills (Office 2003); film editing software a plus
Experience in tasks requiring extreme accuracy
Must be detail-oriented
Must be quick to adapt to shifting priorities
Must be a team player
Must have empathy for different cultures
Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel (in person, telephone, written)
Must be able to work efficiently under time constraints
Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Must be service-oriented
Must be able to work flexible hours if and when necessary
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in English or related field and/or 2–3 years related experience.
